edit: is R3870 what you paid gearbest or is it the total after fees?

Calculating customs VAT is 15% of R3870 gives you R567, they charged R479.

The Duties are a further 7% which is another R264, they charged you R274.

The clearance fee of R260 is their standard rate for all small items now.

You would only pay less if you got it past customs without detection or if it was labelled as a different item, I see in one of your earlier tracking messages shows it listed as a mobile phone so no luck there, some guys paid less cause it was marked as a media player.

It's the new trend. No one is gonna get away.

And this was for a phone which I paid $309 and it was under declared at $216 on the invoice and as a media player.

Buying the same phone again using Dhl. Will keep you okes posted on the difference if therer is any.

Difference will be in speed for sure.

Not in the slightest it seems ,I'm paying it this week if I don't than I lose R4000 and that'll be just stupid so I gotta pay the fees but hopefully my experience will help those who came to seek help

This tracking system of Buffalo is not up to date. I had 5 parcels showing "Inbound Manifest to Hub" and another 3 parcels showing "Cleared" I spoke to Buffalo Call center about 2 hours ago and was advised that I will receive the 5 parcels by Friday. They advised me that they will give it to Fastway by this afternoon or tomorrow. The other 3 parcels they must still collect from the airport.

To my surprise Fastway couriers just delivered the 5 parcels. Tracking site is still showing "Inbound Manifest to Hub"

Very surprised to finally receive my parcel from the post office today. Parcel was received in South Africa on 28th September and only arrived in Knysna today, 8th January! Hooray! Lesson finally learnt, do NOT order anything from suppliers such as Gearbest for delivery by post. It is just not worth the wait.

I opened a support ticket with them weeks ago and finally got the answer that they will have stock on 21 January.

My problem is that I'm leaving the country on 29 January.

Do you think my order will have arrived by then?

I used DHL Express + insurance - is that faster than Buffalo? It should be, according to this - https://www.gearbest.com/about/shipping-methods.html

Shipping date for 6t changed today to 16 Jan. Hope they actually stick to it.
