Just pay your debt on time.

Even identity theft or other incorrect ones you don't know about? ;)

Article is still important so that noobs start getting their reports:

Can get your free (or paid-for reports with scoring) from the below websites:

Transunion (have to pay for scoring, free report doesn't have scoring):
https://mytransunion.co.za/

Experian (free report has scoring):
https://www.creditexpert.co.za/

XDS (free report has scoring):
http://www.credit4life.co.za/

Compuscan (have to pay for scoring, free report doesn't have scoring):
https://www.mycreditcheck.co.za/

For a paid credit report that checks XDS, Transunion and Experian at R79 you can go to any Checkers or Shoprite MoneyMarket counter or you can do it online:

Clear score gives you a full, free monthly report.
My favorite part of it is seeing all the incorrect variations of my home address, 14 in total and not 1 is correct.

To be fair, I get the same **** on my transunion one, people seem to be incompetent at data capturing.

What I would like to see though is some of that data cleaned out, they still have a cell number from 20 years ago. A whole bunch of work numbers, more numbers than jobs I have had.

Now wonder it's so damned impossible to pass that home affairs double blind ****, how you supposed to get it right when they give you a list of wrong options and you not sure if they wrong because the data is wrong or because your supposed to click "none of the above"

My fav is when they ask have you ever had one of these numbers and I go brah, I have moved 17 times in my life have had 8 cellphone contracts and over 10 jobs that over a year in my life. There is an albeit small, probability that all of them could have been my numbers.

TymeCoach from Tyme Bank also gives you a free monthly Compuscan report with scoring. You also get a free sms when something changes which is great.

After you checked your credit score, expect to receive a lot of spam sms's and spam calls.

Is it safe to sign up with the above mentioned ?

The ones I mentioned? Probably not safe to sign up with the 4 biggest SA Credit Bureaus (2 of which are multinationals) and the Checkers option, they all scams that have all your info anyway :p

The Capitec app gives you weekly Compuscan ratings, but only in bands not values.
