Up front, sorry if this is a dof question but not had to deal with this problem before.
What’s the procedure in SA for buying a new freestanding electric stove and swapping out an old one? Does the switchover have to be done by an electrician? There is an existing connection socket (old one is plugged into it, obvs). So, assuming the new stove has a compatible connector, is it a simple “turn off the mains and swap them over” procedure that one can DIY or is it more complicated than that?
I’m buying it from Tafelberg but they say they don’t do installations. However, Dion Wired say they can send someone to install (even if not bought from them) for R950. No clue what an independent electrician might cost, and lead times are also usually painful.
Any advice would be gratefully received!
