Hi All,

What do you think of this item up for sale on bidorbuy.co.za?

http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/jsp/item/Item.jsp?Trade_TradeId=2263759

Sick of waiting for Telkom to install your ADSL line? Some people have been waiting 2-3 months to have their line installed. They have been frustrated , annoyed and confused. Does this sound like you? Then this is the guide you need! It shows you how , step by step , to install AND activate the line yourself , along with INSIDER info on how to get your line up and running within the shortest possible time , AND save yourself the R404 installation fee!If you have had enough of Telkom , take matters into your own hands and do it fast and cheaply! You will recieve an email with your guide soon after payment!

Can it be done and is it legal to install your own ADSL line? Maybe there is a business for people out there who know how to do this and we can speed up the implementation of ADSL?

This is most likely some nigerian scam again. You would be silly to believe that its possible to get adsl without having them connect you up. I mean, if you can install it yourself....who is stopping you from using it for free?

I am sceptical about this myself but I did check out the seller and he seems legit i.e. he has South African details and logged in last from a South African IP address.

How did you determine that?

I assure you it is not me selling this item. I am the MD at bidorbuy and just wanted to find out if this is possibly legit. If not we would remove it from the site.

Well you can remove it as there is no way you can or will be able to have a telkom adsl on a telkom line without coughing up the R400. It may be something telkom does not know about and can be exploited but be assured they will send you to jail if you touch their lines.

People went to jail for not using 5c in telkom payphone attaching string to 5c and pulling it up and down to register payment

Hi Andy, good to see you on the forum.

It really depends on the content of what the guy is selling. To me it sounds like he is talking about saving the R404 by doing a "self-install" which exists but isnt always available, as well as selling tips and tricks on how to get your line installed a bit faster.

You would really need to have a look at the "guide" to see what exactly the guy is trying to sell.

Since when did bidorbuy become concerned about how legit items are?
