Its easy to save yourself the R404. Go to a Telkom Direct office, order your ADSL - marking it a "self install" option, buy your little ADSL router, plug it in, configure it using the software and manual provided, wait for Telkom to activate the ADSL on your line, check weather your router syncs with the exchange...and voila.

Actually anyone of us on this forum can write a Noddy Guide for self installing ADSL, sell it via an online auction for R35 (undercutting that seller by R2 - its just business), and pay for the bandwith we spent submitting it over our expensive Telkom ADSL lines. BRILLIANT..whahahaha...

Yip, that's what I did. But Telkom had to show up anyway to upgrade my physical line.

Hmmmm...? You might have a point. Here where I live the infrastructure is also rather dodgy and the lines are even worse - I could only manage 29.4Kb/s dial up negotiation on my line before upgrading, with Telkom unable to improve the line quality. They offered me 512k ADSL on the same kaak line - no issues - and I'm currently running very stable at 384k.

the self install option is similiar. the line speed u choose doesnt neccesarily mean you are gonna get that. it will synch at the highest attainable speed...

Well Here I am... The Author of this ebook...

:)

Now that everyones quite finished having a go at me...

You guys are missing a trick. The "freeware" part of the ebook just explains in a lot more detail than the telkom guide... ( Like beginner like ) how to do the install by yourself at home..

But that you can get for free and it isnt what im selling....:)

There is a trick you guys are missing.... Its legal sure , but if everyone does it telkom will catch on....and then nobody will be able to do it...

The happy people who bought the ebook are happy because they know the trick -

I have had one person come back to me for a refund and its because telkom did not have adsl availible in her area....

I found the trick - and i challenge everyone on this thread who has so happily slated me to find out what it is. If i could do it im sure you can. Tip : Think outside the box.....

Oh and Andy - dont worry im legit - call me on 0848517229 if you dont believe me....

And DONT spam call me...Im warning you...:D

L8er!
Lloyd

PS : Oh , and i cant sell as many copies of this ebook as i like - telkom is gonna find the glitch in their ordering system sooner or later and is gonna fix it...
Double PS : I scan my buyers for telkom employees so this glitch does not get out..
Triple PS : Hopefully telkom can keep thier track record and be incompetent , then they wont fix the glitch and we can install our lines fast...

And wandering onto a website that is more than likely monitored by Telkom to mention this glitch in their ordering system is the best idea you've had all day?

So now, on top of the fact that our telecommunications company charges us 10 times more than they should, we should also pay extra for some bogus manual that will apparently inform us of a "glitch" in their ordering system so we can get our expensive lines installed faster?

No thanks, I think I would rather wait than pay even more money for some silly little handbook written by some guy trying to exploit the current state of telecommunications in this country for a few extra bucks.

As far as I'm concerned you're just as bad, if not worse, than Telkom are themselves.

Hmm.....

How does that figure?

I save you R404 on the installation that Telkom doesent get , you get the line installed super fast and you get one up on telkom..

How is this a bad plan?:D

No, you don't save me R404. Telkom's Self-Install option saves me R404.

Self-installs are usually completed 3 to 5 times faster than Telkom installs simply because of the lack of Telkom technician.

It may not be a bad plan for you, exploiting Telkom's terrible customer service to lure in ADSL noobs so you can make some easy cash with a handbook that anyone with any tech know-how could write. You claim this "glitch" in their ordering system (which sounds like a complete scam to me) and expect people to pay you to unveil it to them?

So what if you're the author, your bias nullifies any comments you make. I would like to see some of your "happy people" who bought this "product" come onto the forum and sing its praises too.

Either way, exploiting Telkom's deathgrip on SA's telecommunications infrastructure and broadband just to make some cash, rather than offering your assistance to the community to aid in the struggle is selfish and downright arrogant.

I agree~
but thats coz I got my adsl thru self installation and it was quicker(2 weeks) and I didnt pay R404 bucks. So that little e-book wont really made much of a diff, except we pay out R35 extra and u get X times R35 from not so clever ppl out there. We might be missing out if its really that great, but so far it wont make a big diff to most ppl, except for R35 short :p

ps they told me self-install was not available but I did it anyways and they couldnt charge me for anything. But the techni guy was a good oak though, writing down that it was a self-install option~

Hmmm...

As I have already explained , the ebook is only partly on the self - installation process and can be obtained from anywhere. The other few tricks that I researched and tested and spent money on is what Im selling.

As always , people are entitled to their opionions , but if you have a look at the link posted on the first thread and scroll down to buyer opinions , they are all posotive.

You are welcome to say what it is you feel. We continue to install lines faster than anyone availble and continue to pass this money and time saving knowledge through our ebook.

If you think this is unethical - try offering your services , in whatever you do , for free for a few days and see how it holds with you.

Cheers!

Ok...

I dont have any specific method , but I try and suss it out of the information that I have avalible about the people who buy.

If Telkom finds out about the glitch , then it will shut the glitch off and I will have to stop selling the e-book....

Which is no biggie - people just wont be able to get a line super fast anymore.
But until that time comes , we can exploit the glitch ...free of charge . and get lines up and running quickly.

Hope that helps.
Cheers!
