My wife's Christiana and we're doing OK - although more and more I notice her not going to church so I think I'm rubbing off on her. :)

I think if two people really want to they can make it work as long as you just respecting each other's choices.

Fair enough. Just as long as the two agree to disagree from the outset.

Find another girlfriend who"s also atheist. This will not work or chances are it will not work.

My missus goes to church on Sundays, I don't know if that makes her particularly devout or not. Excluding the occasional funeral I'm pretty sure the last time I went was the day we got married. :)

I would find it extremely odd to be romantically involved with a very devout person.

Very devout would be someone who goes as far as actually going to church regularly.

That is so very weird.

Tits and arse can overcome most obstacles.

Tell the religious girl that you're an atheist, instead of lying to her.

/sigh.

Yep lying is probably not the best route to take. I'm an Atheist, my gf is christian not devout though as Copa put it but religious none the less although quite broadminded I might add. I've been upfront about my Atheism from the start so it worked out quite fine.

Having said that though . . . I'll tap anything in a skirt!

Not quite there yet, chief.

Anyway, it's probably a good thing that it happened early, OP. If she takes it seriously enough that it already ruined any prospect of a relationship then it wouldn't have worked anyway.

They say that people who find a partner with similar religious and political beliefs a have longer relationships.

Dont waste time on a chick that cant accept an atheist. She is not worth it. Personally I avoid the very religious chicks. Theyre normally cooked.

Not a good idea to start any relationship with a lie.

I would never date a devoutly religious, conservative woman. My sense of humour (toilet) and music tastes (hard rock, metal, punk etc) would have her reaching for her Bible within the first 10 minutes. Imagine getting home and she's burnt all your AC/DC CDs? Imagine her face when you pull out your stash of couples' porn DVDs for movie night? :p I want someone whose mind is as dirty as mine. :whistling:
