Yes just change the setting "Network Selection" or something like that to manual and then it will search for networks. Pick the MTN network from the list.

Now it should stay on the MTN network BUT its advisable to have a "all networks" bundle because Telkom Mobile ONLY data bundles like the R149 for 2GB +1GB will not work when you are connecting via the MTN network.
If I do that to change the setting to manual and select mtn and then take out the sim and use it on mdma will it still show mtn signal also how do I purchase the all networks, as only mtn.cell and voda prepaid bundle is sold, I ask for the all-networks bundle at the shops, It seems it's not known so when purchasing it what to say?

I'm not sure if mdma would show it but they default software should have the network search function.

The best bet would be just to buy airtime and visit got to this website when you are connected with your 8ta/Telkom sim http://onnet.8ta.com or buying it manually via the *180# menu. For you that use the sim in a modem the best bet would be the website onnet.8ta.com from the sim you want to buy the data on. Its a very handy site to buy data if you browse from that simcard. If not you can register on the site and then just log in to buy bundles after you registered.

The bundles are clearly marked Telkom Mobile bundles which only works on Telkom Mobile network and All network bundles that works when you are connected to MTN or Telkom Mobile network.

1.)So I can buy the all networks data bundle on mobile by dialling *180# and and after that the all network option will be available then after I recharge the all-network bundle on 8.ta sim the mtn network will automatically be used on 8.ta prepaid sim and the mtn signal will show up on mdma too after recharging with the all-network bundle is that what you're saying?
2)What is the purpose of the All-network bundle, Is it for making the 8.ta sim use mtn networ?
3.)If the bundle is finished does the 8.ta prepaid sim card remain on 8.ta network?

No. No and No.

8ta has a roaming agreement with MTN. You can connect to MTN ANYTIME from your 8ta simcard. The data bundle DOES NOT EFFECT this at ALL.

8ta has 2 types of data bundle which makes internet usage cheaper. the 8ta only bundles which ONLY works on the 8ta signal and all networks which works on 8ta AND MTN signal. These options only make the internet cheaper BUT you can use airtime too although I would strongly advise AGAINST it unless your are on sim sonke price plan.

Your device or modem can control which signal you can connect to NOT the data bundles. The bundles only dictate which bundle can be used on which network.

The all networks bundle will detect mtn on 8.ta network when using mdma, also I selected manual network chose mtn through the phone took the sim and used it on mdma, the mtn network didn't pick up, shoul'd the all-networks bundle be loaded to pick up the mtn signal?

Got the all networks bundle used mdma abd it didn't pick up mtn signal?

Its software related. Its not the bundle. You need to manually select the MTN network from your software. That is why I suggested that you use the modems default software. It would be able to manually select a network and stick to it.
