You can't outrun a bullet ;)

Attempted murder for a sticker seem worth it...? But I would also like to know who does the stickers. Would be great for people who park in disabled bays but aren't actually disabled.

You think they care for laws?

Simple.. impound vehicles with drivers who are caught with many violations. crush them on the spot and haul away remains. Easy peasy, gets rid of the dodge taxis too, teaches the taxi operator to tell their drivers to drive carefully and removes responsibility from the traffic officer to keep miscreant kids from standing in line all the time as the penalty is high

Why? In SA, people like those found in the taxi industry will only adhere when u impact their pocket. if you think fines are going to impact them then you likely believe they also pay tax on 100% of income :p So yah.. fine the driver impound vehicle till owner retrieves the 1st time.. 3rd time crush it.. watch how fast the drivers are told to reform their ways.

At the end of the day it's not the responsibility of traffic officers to ensure u obey the rules.. but to enforce penalties where needed. In the case of public transit they are way too lenient, penalty is way too low for drivers (who dont pay tax either) and the operator is not impacted currently. We need ZERO tolerance in Sa as people have shown they simply cannot think for themselves.

Who do you guys think is capable of making those easy peel-off stickers? (Text on sticker: "I don't care for anyone else, I drive where I please.")

As an aside, getting quotes for this. Anyone here keen to give an idea what type of pricing you would pay for something like this? I was thinking various sizes - mostly saying the same thing.

They tried going after dodgy taxis here in Cape Town and the result was the taxi drivers and owners rioting, claiming they are being targeted, causing chaos.
Also the problem with crushing some of the taxis, is that the newer ones are possibly owned by the bank....maybe repo bank owned taxis after the 3rd strike?

I just dropped an email and reported a LUX branded taxi to both primedia and unilever. Let's see what happens.

Hi Brenden

Some feedback, the Lux branding is being removed from this taxi. Thank you again for informing us, much appreciated.

Intriguing..

Wonder if they've told the taxi owner WHY they're removing the branding.

Primedia did the same. I hope that if you report the branded taxis, that taxi owners will either go "Fsck the advertising, we will continue driving like a-holes" or that they will actually reign in their drivers. Although I can not disclose figures, I heard that those branding deals are worth a lot of money and it will certainly hurt them.

The driver does not own the taxi and has to report to a boss. His ****ty driving cost his boss, so I would venture there would be consequences.

Interesting. Maybe we can all start reporting the branded one's to the various companies? Doubt it will do that much but every little helps.

His ****ty driving may have cost his boss but at the same time it also makes the ahole more money. Catch 22 for them.

You can take a journey here in CT to town and back (about 5+5 Km) and not see ONE traffic car.
On a Saturday they park up near the shopping centre for hours.

Don't even try calling one if you are parked in.
