How to purchase cryptocurrency in South Africa

It's been a while since cryptocurrency first leapt into the global spotlight thanks to its wild price rises, but many people are still unaware of exactly how it works.

Before even contemplating a cryptocurrency purchase, it is important to note that tokens like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other digital currencies are not an investment, and you should know exactly what you are purchasing before deciding to buy them.

Buying cryptocurrency for South African is made far easier by the presence of multiple local exchanges which allow users to simply trade rand for Bitcoin or other tokens at the current market price.

The most popular of these local exchanges is Luno. Luno is a large exchange which operates across multiple countries and offers a wealth of resources aimed at educating its users about cryptocurrencies.
How about actually linking to them as well instead of just Luno.
No mention of 2FA & backing up 2FA keys?

Paid promotion.

If you're new rather go with Valr. That way you don't become used to the Luno way of doing it that will be hard to unlearn.

yep

i'd rather usdzar be an after thought
Yes there are a few exchanges you can buy with credit card or if you don't want to incur the fees you can transfer BTC after buying in ZAR. A bit of a premium but you get it back when you sell in ZAR again. Binance seem to be one of the popular options, now with margin trading as well.
