How to recover from the botched download?

1. Updated the app from device. It crashes immediately. I know I can remove app, but it deletes all data.
Store app is unaware that app is crashing, there is no option to download again. There is only 'Open' button.
iTunes also gives the only option to remove. I think that image is broken, as during sync the app is not transfered to the library, the old version remains.

Thinking of changing headers in the old version ipa file, making it a 'new' fake version. Any advice?

2. Related problem: Also tried update from the device. Store app refused saying, it is bigger than 100MB, but now I see that every sync it transfers this app during "Transfering purchases" phase to the library, creating a new 'zip' file (as seen on the picture attached). All zip files are identical, also identical to the file with very long name in double quotes: "Kitcamera - foco, adobe...."
It could be also triggered by #3, see below.

3. Anybody experienced this? In the Store app I touched "Update all" button accidentally. You can't stop that!
It launches massive number or workers updating everything. I cut Internet but it keeps going. Restarting phone doesn't help. I ended up deleting unimportant apps and let important one's going. What a mess, it was few months ago...

I am updating from device as iTunes always downloads the latest version which subsequently do not install on the phone, due to iOS version mismatch.

Sounds like the app update may not be compatible with iOS 6.1.3. Can you update to 7.1.2 - I'm not sure if Apple is still signing it?

Is your phone jailbroken?

It is compatible 100%. It is a botched download, as it doesn't transfer to the library. Didn't I write it already?
Sure they sign 7.1.2, but they promised 7.1.3, something it would work well on this phone, remember? :(

BTW, I don't think v7 changed this feature to allow download only a newer version.

What is jailbreak?

IIRC, long swipe right on an updating icon, and you should get a cancel option, or something like that

Update:

iTunes is definitely in deep disarray, so I searched for the solution. Jailbreak is not an option, as I would need to upgrade to iOS 7. However there are number of applications capable of updating apps from iTunes library: Anytrans, iBackupBot, iExplorer, iFunbox. Downloaded some (free or demo versions). For the record, it doesn't need jailbreak, most of operations will work on the untouched iOS.

So far I only tried iTools. Lanch the application, connect phone, select 'Applications' in the 'Library' section, position to the botched download. Click on the yellow button 'Degrade', problem #1 is solved! Now the app is launching successfully with all my data inside.

It costs two mouse clicks and scrolling down to fix the problem. Problem #2 should be fixed exactly the same way.

I will definitely use iTools. It has many other useful features. I allows to reinstall the same version. It displays whether the app is incompatible straight away on the list. In iTunes I would need to sync to learn about. ;) It has powerful contact manager (missing in iTunes completely) and it seems to support many other practical functions for everyday use. Long time ago I stopped syncing books and music as I keep most of the stuff on the external drive. When I forget that external is offline, this idiot will delete all the stuff from iPhone.
