How to Rica a CellC sim, week 4 and counting [SOLVED]

So a work colleague of mine won a 5GIG 12 month prepaid data package, big ups to the clever dude. For the last 4 weeks has been trying to get it Rica'ed and start using his data card...everyday the poor guy gets pushed from pillar to post....first was referred to the nearest CellC Store, sim card number can not be RICA'ed as it has not on this or that system. Was then told, you have to go CellC Cape HQ in Plattekloof....with that mission completed, still no Rica'ed and no one calls him back. Rather pathetic service CellC....is there anyone on this forum to get this corrected?

Pm your details & card details to Lars or Cell C Rep here on forum, they will sort it out.
Add to that the stores that were giving you problems as well!!

Hello IceQB, I'm the colleague. Speed sticks were handed out by Cell C as quiz prizes at the Silicon Cape event in January, I won one of them. However, it turns out that the speed stick is from warehouse "SP1344" which I later find out is apparently "Joburg Showroom Stock" and nobody in Cell C in Western Cape, not even the "super-users" at the Plattekloof head office have "permissions to operate on resources from this warehouse." It took me 3 weeks to piece together this much because nobody at the franchise stores (like Canal Walk, Cavendish and Grand Central) knew what the error meant, nor did the call center. I was repeatedly told to try a different Cell C store, and even to go to Pep - which won't work because Pep/Shoprite need an MSISDN which an un-activated SIM does not have.

It's a case of the computer says "no".

Dorian at Plattekloof says he's in contact with the Joburg people and has sent them scans of my ID and Telkom bill and they say they'll activate it... but that was over a week ago and as far as I can tell from Dorian, Joburg office is just taking their sweet time.

I had similar problem when buying a cellc data package from a computer dealer for a customer as cellc shops did not have stock.
After a few hours of being told this & that by "know it all" cellc staff at there shops to ahve it activated i pm'd cellc reps & lars here.
Next day customer was happy & on her way to JHB with speed stick & laptop whooooshing away ;)

Something similar happened to my CO, he phoned Lars (has his number) and Plattekloof sorted it all out for him.

From my recent experience with CellC, I can say that their stores suck in comparison to their callcenter. Callcenter on the other hand has only been brilliant.

Thank you Cell_C for sorting out the issue so quickly.

One month on and the Cell C conection is working fine.

The Cell_C rep contacted me by email and I replied with my details for RICA, and the SIM-with-60GB data bundle was activated the same day. The staff at Cell C Plattekloof office vouched for me that I was physically there and have copies of my ID and Telkom bill to verify my details.
