How to save money with solar while Eskom suspends load-shedding

While there has been no load-shedding in over two weeks, solar power system users can still ensure their investment is providing some returns by using self-generated power to reduce their electricity bills.

The first way to get the most out of your solar power system is to ensure you shift as much of your usage as possible to the daytime.

Good article. There is also one other aspect people don't consider. You can set your minimum battery grid charge threshold even lower if loadshedding is suspended. IE don't have it stay at 50%, have it go all the way down to 10-15% depending on your battery. This allows you to use even more of your battery power (ie stored solar power). Further reducing your grid consumption.

At the start of load shedding again. Just put the old battery settings back in.
