I was wondering if this is possible. I have a pdf document that is 196 pages. I want to make a pdf of only some of the pages (for example make a pdf of pages 23-25of the 196-page pdf). I tried to print those pages (by going to print and then, save as pdf), but I get an message in Acrobat Pro saying I must rather choose File>Save. When I got there it does not give an option to save specific pages. Does anyone know of a way of doing this?

Open the document up in preview, select the pages and drag them to the desktop.

Thanks Bwana, I tried that but I must be doing something wrong. In preview on the Right are the pages, I select the pages I want and then drag them to the desktop, but it only makes a picture clipping, not a pdf of those pages.

Why not select and delete the pages that you don't want and then save with a different file name?

Long way, but...

That is a bit of a long winded way, but it does work.

If anyone knows another way, please let me know. Otherwise the long way is working, thanks.

That doesnt sound right.

Try this - highlight the thumbnails (I use contact sheet view), then do a copy (+c) followed by +n for a new document.

Why not use PDF Creator from here?

I use it at home and in the office, and you simply print the selected pages into PDF using PDF Creator.

PDF Creator can also be used off Office documents and web pages too ... although their are better programmes for web, like Screengrab! (an app for Firefox).

Have you noticed what section this is? ;) :)

BTW - That functionality is built into OsX. :)

PDF Creator is PC only, not Mac

Bwana, the copy (+c) followed by +n for a new document. Doesnt seem to work as suggested. I can copy the pages, but when vcreate a new document, it only copies the first page to the new document not all the pages selected into the new document.

What version of OsX are you using?

BTW - moggie's suggestion should work.

In preview:
* Select 1st page you want from the Sidebar
* +n for new
* +v for paste
* Click Show Sidebar in the new (1-pg) PDF
* place the two side-by-side
* drag thumbs from original sidebar to new sidebar
* save new
