Probably won't get paid, on normal policies if valued over R10 000-00 it must either be worn or in a locked safe.
(un) fortunately my town has a reputation for people stealing jewelery off women in the street...

If worn, you have to insure it under 'all risks' which costs a pretty penny. Else under household contents cover it needs to be in an insurer approved safe if over a certain value** and have an up to date valuation certificate.

** for Santam the value is 25k, for Outsurance I think it's 75k (speaking under correction).

I am sure the rules are strict because of people like me
