Dont give a fck. Those scraping by are in most cases voting for the muppets in power who have been fcking over this country for the past two decades.
Aren't these 'muppets in power' as you call them the ones who are literally helping the dirt poor to improve the quality of their life through a little bit of free electricity? In this case they are literally doing something.
Also to actually qualify for this you have to be poor but still have an electricity connection with a meter otherwise you won't actually get the voucher

Electricity subsidies are capped at 150kWh per household per month.

Still trying to decode this. You can only get one FBE voucher per month per meter. Does this apply when multiple meters are installed?

That will last 4 days in winter with that hotplate going full blast.....and back to stealing from nearest illegal connection.

cANCer trying to buy votes with this idiotic scheme.

Just the fact that you think a meaningless handout is helping the country or the poor tells me what your level intellect is. Especially considering the pillaging done.

Why would you have multiple meters installed?

Meaningless handout, yet here you are grumbling about it, is it not too much effort for something so meaningless??

Not by itself, but we're already paying for corruption, theft and the greed of the people they keep voting into power. As far as I remember we voted for democracy, why should we pay for a mismanaged death spiral into socialism/communism?

And if it wasn't for that they'd get more so they're just screwing themselves. 60kWh is meaningless and you need at least double that to do the basics. Then you still have to use gas for the rest so you're paying either way. They could make it at least 100kWh.

oh, another thing i forgot to point out
i pay R2.40 per unit, I buy 270 units per month for R650.

i often buy electricity via FNB for guys at work as it is easier for them than going in to stand in a queue, plus I now get cash.
Anyways, their tariffs are way less, somewhere around R1.30 a unit.

Then they also get the FBE allocated as well. The 1 guy only buys R30 a month for him and his wife. How that is possible is anyone's guess coz i go through that in less than 2 days living on my own.
