So my friend wanted to braai and was slighty in a hurry. He took his Webber, took fireligther and charcoal and start his fire. But this was not fast enough for him, so he took a fan and try to get the fire ready, but eskom stop the fan with load ****. Then the next thing was to apply some thinners. But as you know thinners tend to make a huge flame. And a huge flame send you to hospital. So his face got burnt, but he will be okay. He was in hospital for 2 days.

Are you still wanting advice?

I will say if the wood is wet or you are in a hurry, a hairdryer speeds up the process. Not to be done with the guys around though

Your bud is impatient, or he started it wrong. Thinners... at least he didn't start with candle wax.

For advice, especially with getting a 'Webber' up to speed, tell him to invest in a charcoal chimney as it will reduce his medical bills. Though I have seen people having no idea how those work either, so...

Invest in a good old fashioned bellow. I got one as a gift a few years ago and I can tell you that nothing gets a fire going quicker than a good old blaas from your bellow. Doesn't matter how wet the wood is, whether you have firelighters or not. I've been able to get a fire going using nothing but wet wood and kitchen towel and a good bellow.

Are you retarded? You don't eat food made over a fire started with thinners, in fact, you should never even inhale the fumes from said fire.

Only time will tell if you weren't perhaps subjected to hydrocarbon poisoning

Anyway, did you at least finish braaiing before going to the hospital?

I also tried the fuel thing (93 from a car) once and burnt part of our neighbors mulberry tree.
These days I use gas but it still doesn’t stop me burning everything to a crisp especially when wors is involved…

Are YOU retarded? The fumes would be burned off within the first few seconds, leaving behind a normal fire.
