Hi, you'l, I have been busy with this thing for years now and still cant find the perfect solution.

I need a server application to install on a server that can manage my users > quota, upload and download bandwidth speed, and so on... and block all the other unauthenticated users, and I want to redirected them to my custom authentication...

programs I tried before:

Kerio WinRoute Firewall : very awesome but lacks a truck full of options, like speed control for the users and custom http athentication

Usergate: nah

RouterOS : cant get pass the press “a” to select all and “r” to install, its keeps popping back

CCProxy, awesome, but lacks http authentication and NAT

Antamedia Hotspot – shoot me with a bazooka!!!, it sucks

and to use some programs for “add-ons with Kerio winroute firewall” to control Bandwidth, coz it lacks it

Antamedia Bandwidth Manager : shoot me again with a bazooka!!!, it sucks

Crysnet Bandwidth Manager - blue screen on setup

JDSoft Bandwidth Manager 1.0 -kills pc, blue screens

Bandwidth Management and Firewall – lol

Bandwidth Controller – works ok but oh boy, it still sucks and cuases problems with Kerio winroute

Traffic Shaper XP -limited and only TCP controlling, and it a free version of Bandwidth Controller, limited !!!! its sucks, its mean the user get FULL speed of your backbone connection if they use UDP like torrents for example :) it sucks at controlling speed!!

SoftPerfect Bandwidth Manager -nice in a way, but still to much admin work, setting up the users finding their IP's or MAC's then your users is connected 2 routers away, on a different IP range and subnet maybe..

so thats my problem, any help will be super awesome cool......

and so the list goes on with stupid useless programs!!

well strange enough hey, the serial of "SoftPerfect Bandwidth Manager" works on those 2 mentioned applications that you mentioned, hahah, I think some company's ripped off "SoftPerfect Bandwidth Manager" but still SoftPerfect Bandwidth Manager takes to much of CPU power and its hectic to setup a new user then they want to have internet for a month, because here, users come and go, and to use one program to do it all will be soooo.... much better, because like I said before, how do u get the MAC address from a new user if they subscribes online and already paid, u will have to look at the who is online connection is kerio or under your DHCP leases in kerio, to see who's new in here, and in my case, my AP, uses its own DHCP servertjie to give the users some IP's and to get that IP's it sux, so ... it all sux... that's why I need a better solution, and the other problem with kerio winroute firewall is that the DNS freezes up on the server and doesnt want to resolve any address until you restart the darn thing or wait it out for a couple of hours / day........... a big :( !!!

You'll need some sort of RADIUS Server for the dd-wrt to authenticate against.
Thats what Mikrotik UserManager does.

Want me to do your school homework too?

There are a few local Mikrotik suppliers. Uniterm Direct, Scoop and Miro are the big ones.
Some will even help you implement your solution, for a price.

Where do you see any mention of it being free?

somewhere on the webpage::

Try RouterOS for free!
Download MikroTik products
Why use cracked version of RouterOS 2.9.6 when you can use full version of latest RouterOS.

I dont have any licenses... yea wrt's is not that bad, I have had my bad luck with a mikrotik router once before , so I HATE mikrotik routers, those that you access from winbox, pff
