How to stay safe on your next Uber trip

Uber, the taxi application service says it is committed to the safety of everyone that uses the app, riders and driver-partners alike. The company has urged riders to make use of its safety services for their own security.

I tried to make a combined trip to save unnecessary driving about. The car would have to pick up 2 other people who were on the way to the same final destination and the diversion would add an extra 3.8km compared with the direct route

The driver refused to consider this even though I suggested he could start the 3 rides as separate events and called me a "chissler". I was charged R175,00 even though I did not get into the car. The driver started to swear at me and drove off

A taxi took us all the way I wanted and I was charged R 202,00

Complain to uber!

What I do is set the destination to the first pickup location, and then when we arrive I change the destination to the second pickup, and then change the destination again to the final location. There should be no issues with this!
