Can I switch lets say from MyChoice 75 to a data only contract without changing sims or having to pay in the remainder of the contract period?

If you're going to a higher package it'll probably be fine, its generally only a problem when you're downgrading. Otherwise you could always load a data bundle on to your Mychoice contract.

In short, Yes you can, the 75 is the lowest package, you can go up, but not down ;)
you must jump some hoops though :D

Hoop one: the 2GB data contract is actually a R9.99 ProData contract plus a 1GB data bundle (with 1GB free), so your are actually downgrading your contract from R75 to R9.99, so there will be penalties for that.

Hoop two: you got a free device with your MyChoice 75, the ProData contract does not include a device, so there will be a device clawback penalty as well.

So then just load the 2GB bundle on the Mychoice contract, seeing as the 2GB seems to be permanent anyway.

As far as I understand if you migrate you don't get the extra gig you only get the extra gig if you take a new contract
