Hi all,
My first post! Hoping someone can help.
I bought a Safeway Fitted Electric Underblanket from Clicks (Queen size) a few years ago and it desperately needs a wash before the new winter season but it does not detail how to wash it. Most online resources say that you must remove the control box (heat setting switch) and power cable (2 point plug) before hand washing or machine washing, some blankets even allow you to pull ALL cables out. However, this blanket has no option to detach - the control box and power cord that plugs into the wall just goes straight into the blanket (screwed in). Any solutions? I've resorted to just spot cleaning stains which is not ideal. Wishing I invested in a better brand.

You probably could just wash it in a bath...but need to let it sit and dry for a long time.
Like some or almost all computer parts, i have seen people wash them in water but u need to let them really stand a while and in the sun at least.

Not sure if it was very expensive for the blanket.

Unless call the manufacturer or go to a store where they actually know what they are selling and have good knowledge of this stuff.
I know, hard to find here, people most of the time don't know what they are even selling.

Hope u come right

Just hang it on the line, spray some detergent on, let it soak in for some time and hit it with a hose pipe, some little pressure would do fine so if you have those nozzle type hoses the better, give those places that have spots special attention.

Give it ample time to dry.

Computer parts? I was thinking the blanket would have a simple contact type switch and an element, does it have some electronics?

Use that deep cleaner they rent out at Spar.R150 per day.Works like a bomb.

I never sleep directly on or under an electric blanket. So they never get dirty keep linen between you and the blanket next time probably safer as well.

Don't you ever curl up on a cold winter's night, snuggled in your duvet with the warm, warm electric blanket? You go to sleep, cuddled up in the softness and glorious warmth...when suddenly you need to pee. And because you are asleep and so, so warm and comfortable you just pee in the bed...

And that's why people need to clean their electric blankets.

and you wake up shocked at how well you slept or didnt sleep..

By the time you figured out how to wash it and realized it does not work anymore, it is just cheap enough to buy a new clean one :)
