This King Price guy does know what a portable generator is right? His explanation of you can't just have it in your garage with an extension lead is wrong, as long as you have it five meters away from your house that's exactly what a portable generator is for.
Then he's like sometimes people like to take them to a friend's house and watch the rugby if there is load shedding, once again yes, it's a portable generator. He does realise people use these for camping or for things like Africa burn?
I think he's getting them confused with a normal standby generator or something.

They keep mentioning they’re portable then spout a bunch idiotic nonsense about using one.

“The other alternative is to manually disconnect your more sensitive appliances from the power supply and reconnect them after the electricity is switched back on.”
Or you could just pull down the breakers. No need to run around unplugging things.

Also they keep mentioning they are portable and that you can't just run them with an extension lead, but that is their primary function.

That is the logical thing one would assume most people should do, only the circuit breakers for lighting should be left on, everything else off.
