I read about the meeting on the 9th july and the reasons for the impounding.

Zille said it ‘came as a shock’ to discover that over 200 Uber taxis have been impounded by the traffic police in Cape Town since the beginning of the year –

Way out of touch this lady! This has been in the news for many months.

They have said before they will limit the Uber taxis. ie. refuse licenses beyond 50 or so.

Not sure what the fuss is...government needs to figure out how to tax the drivers (they are making way more money now) and corporate tax for the Uber Corporation. Add a licence fee for Uber to operate.

Everyone except the taxi bosses win. Uber is a much fairer model for customers and drivers...the redistribution of wealth away from a few taxi bosses to the common driver should appeal to our left-leaning government.
