Hey guys ...

Just about to splash out on a new monitor and have decided (after some reading) to get the HP LP1965 19" LCD. I am going to use it mostly for graphics and photo editing.

Anyone got any comments on this screen ?

Thanks
Vic

Well the HP screens are definitely pretty good, IMHO. I have one and I'm more than happy with it. The colour's great. Expensive, but once again you do pay for quality.

I have got a Samsung Synchmaster 21", but the damb thing gave up the ghost and I am not sure if it is worthwhile fixing it ? And who could fix it either?

yes, i remember from the other thread...is there nowhere that you can find another...similar?

thats nice, and conveniently, exactly the problem the OP is trying to avoid.

why would you want to avoid a monitor that offers enhanced colour?

i find the 2 lcd's i have owned the colour has been amazing

did i miss something where someone said they dont want vived colours or does photo editing not like lcd's or something?

i use corel draw and photoshop and the best thing i ever did was buy an lcd monitor

depends where that photo is going... if it is being prepared for print then i think colour accuracy is needed.

but then if i look at macs they currently only do lcd - so who knows... i think it really has to do with the ms response time, but i am too lazy to find it now :)

thanks everyone ... I want to do a bit of both ... digital graphics (rendering, animation, etc) and also some photo editing for print. Figured that (from what I have read) this screen will give me both, one it is calibrated for color correctness.

i have a 19" Samsung Syncmaster 940Bf at work and at times i have used it for print work and have not encountered any real probs. Stragely enough the 19" Hyundai has better colour display then the samsung. these are both lcds.

go for it... in the worst case you can get a new crt for about R500-R800 maybe beneficial having both?
