Item name (be very descriptive): HP N40L MicroServer (details below).
Age and condition: Old. Good working condition
Do you include packaging: Not original, but will box up safely
Warranty: No
Reason for selling: Upgraded
Price: R2200
Negotiable: No
Location: Port Elizabeth
Shipping or collection: Collection preferred, C&R on buyer if shipped
Details:
I bought this MicroServer about three years ago and it's been my primary NAS and it has been absolutely flawless.
I did the "thebay" BIOS mod on this to enable using the ODD SATA port as a boot drive. I had it running with Snapraid and Mergefs (3x 2TB drives storage and 1x 2TB drive parity for an effective ~5.3TB space) with OpenMediaVault, but I will be wiping all the drives when sale is confirmed. It's currently running Home Server duties with 17 containers.
Specs:
CPU: AMD Turion II Neo N40L Dual-Core Processor
RAM: 8GB DDR3-1333 Non-ECC (4GBx2, Samsung modules with Lenovo FRU PN's)
Boot Drive: Intel SSDSA2BT040G3 40GB SATA SSD, 3008 power on days, 88% health remaining (as of 14 Feb 2023)
Drive 1: Western Digital WDC WD20EURX-63T0FY0, 910 power on days, 0 bad sectors (as of 14 Feb 2023)
Drive 2: Western Digital WDC WD20EURX-63T0FY0, 910 power on days, 0 bad sectors (as of 14 Feb 2023)
Drive 3: Western Digital WDC WD20EURX-63T0FY0, 847 power on days, 0 bad sectors (as of 14 Feb 2023)
Drive 4: Western Digital WDC WD20EZRZ-00Z5HB0, 1476 power on days, 0 bad sectors (as of 14 Feb 2023)
ODD: Pioneer DVD-RW (SATA) (unplugged)
I'll throw in the original 2GB DDR3-1333 ECC memory module if you want. I used non-ECC memory as the ECC modules were hard to come by. I also found the original 3.5" 250GB HDD that it came with that I will include.
Includes all the screws/key/torx removal tool thingamajig slotted safely into the server door.
