HSDPA benchmark ?

Hi there,

Just upgraded my Vodacom 3G card to HSDPA. Can't say that I sense any improvement in speed (Menlyn Pretoria). Is there a benchmark (site/large file download) that will allow me a reasonably accurate test without suffering slow transfers through the (shaped/or not) saturated peering links ? I am keen to find out how you guys (the power users) benchmark your connections ?

Kind regards,

Mudder

Thanks Ploempie. Sadly, it confirmed my suspicions :-(

Estimated line speed: 27.9 (kiloBytes/second)

My Tel#om DSL line gives me 40+ KB/s...

What to do what to do ?

Something's broken,

Try speed.vodacom.co.za/test and PM me the results together with all your details as per the "How to ask for help sticky thread"

Anyone else getting the very low downlink speeds, can you do the same.

There must be some common factor, maybe area?

Ja, the speed varies between 30 and 50 KB/s. If that's the speed then that's the speed. Thanks for all the references. Much appreciated.

Mudder (would love faster transfer rates)
