HSDPA Drop-outs

For the last few months my connection has been great! All until about 2 weeks back - i now don't get a consistent connection and the stream drops out every few seconds. If I ping e.g) ping google.com i get lots of time-outs.

I'm in Waterkloof Ridge, Pretoria and use the Hauwei E620 HSDPA card in my desktop PC.

Could it have been the recent lightning that maybe damaged a surrounding tower?

It's really become annoying - everytime i have to do something urgently the connection fails on me!
