HSDPA newby

Hi. I am new here so if this question sounds basic, please bear with me. I have a dial up internet connection with Telkom and ABSA(isp) at home. I am looking for something faster and well priced. ASDL seems to cost quite a bit because of all the various telkom and isp costs, and I was wondering about other options like HSDPA. Traditionally, I by cellphones for talking and the odd game when I am bored (at the moment I have a Nokia 6230i on mycall 100). For the sake of clarity, would you give me your opinions on 1. HSDPA, 2. This type of internet connection with respect to download speed, and 3. the inclusive costs of HSDPA. Thanks for your help - GP.
