Was this last night 6pm?

Your area was upgraded (AFAIK) in the night, so maybe check again.

It's still bad for me in the Cape, even after the software patch has been loaded (well at least it was supposed to have been)

Vodacom Speed Test:
Last Result:
Download Speed: 70 kbps (8.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 13 kbps (1.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

Telkom Speed Test:
Download time: 87.484 seconds
Size of file: 500 KiloBytes
Estimated line speed: 46.6 (kilobits/second)
Estimated line speed: 5.7 (kiloBytes/second)

This is on HSDPA! Seems more like GPRS speeds to me - what's going on?

Seems as if the problem in the Cape is now sorted:

Last Result:
Download Speed: 820 kbps (102.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 344 kbps (43 KB/sec transfer rate)

Last Result:
Download Speed: 971 kbps (121.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 343 kbps (42.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

Last Result:
Download Speed: 1095 kbps (136.9KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 335 kbps (41.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

So things are certainly working much better now! Let's hope it's stays that way - please!

Looks like some of the towers in Cape Town (and other areas) did not make the upgrade schedule last night. Hopefully they'll be done tonight, will confirm.

Looks as if Milnerton was one of them... I'll try again in the morning, in the meantime, I'll pull my hair out - that's if I can get a grip on it...

If I can kick speeds of 200KB/s then I'll feel like a cock in a henhouse.
