3G4me said:Dunno where you've been living dude, but maybe when Cellc finally launch HSDPA (that is after they've built a decent voice network) you may be able to actually quote facts around here.
Firstly, the option card is well known to have a MUCH better signal strength than any other card. Do you even know that different firmware versions and software versions are available for the different cards? Do you know that if you insert a different make card you must re-create a profile???
Secondly, the novatel is fraught with problems, from signal strenth, to compatibility issues, to incorrect PID modem settings being supplied to SA. This is spoken about alot in this forum, and as a retailer of all 3, I can tell you in no uncertain terms, the novatel is an absolute nightmare, and VERY weak in the signal strength department.
From someone who doesn't even know whether motorola or alcatel builds their towers, I would stick to the Cellc threads if I were you!!!!![]()

At least until your network start specialising in the HSDPA product offering. Until then, you are equal only to a member of the peanut gallery owned by the competition!

3G4me said:Yeah, sorry ic, had a really bad day with datacards, and ended up swapping 2 of my "treasured" option cards used in-store to clients who were struggling with the novatels, so this hit a sore spot...
V3G, please ask them to bring back the option cards, I know they listen to you????
More a case of the manufacturer (Novatel, in this case) getting the firmware and drivers right.Gunny said:Yeah my old novatel rocked when you guys got the firmware and drivers right. After that it performed better than the Option card i had.
Gunny said:lol true now how about fixing my upload speed![]()
Ploempie said:v3g,
I have noticed from the posts that some people have the higher upload speeds.
I don't seem to get any more than 64k and I was wondering if some towers still need to be upgraded etc etc?
Ploempie said:Same here still. I wouldn't normally care but I have a huge file i need to upload.
v3g: Did you get my PM?
