Hi,

I have read the FAQ and I have tried the call centre, I have even read quite a number of the posts on mybroadband :)

I ported over to Cell C (yesterday) and so far everything on my phone works flawlessly apart from my internet. I have a HTC Desire running a custom rom. I have tried the GPRS settings which I have found. The settings I used was to set my APN to internet without any proxy. When I attempt to enable my data connection it gets "stuck" on turning on as if it cannot connect. (Take note my GPRS worked 100 % two days ago on vodacom, so it is not the rom).

What are the GPRS settings to use or am I still doing something wrong?

Update:

So I got fed up. Put the sim card into a Galaxy S2 and the 3g (data) magically worked. So I thought ok perhaps my phone. I put the sim card back into my phone, and now it suddenly works in my phone as well.

Im stumped to why it works now :p

I had a Desire too, and I put a number of custom roms on - in the end I decided that the manufacturer's rom, while being some versions behind, was the most stable. Bells and whistles are all very well, until your 3g stops working - then you just want something that works. I won't root my next android device.

1. system settings
2. mobile networks
3. data enable uncheck
4. data roming uncheck
5. national data roming uncheck
6. APNS
7. DELETE ALL APNS by selecting apn then menu delete
8. menu new APN
9. NAME: CELLC, APN: INTERNET, PORT: 8080 APN TYPE INTERNET THEN MENU SAVE.
9. DONOT ENABLE THEM, REBOOT PHONE FIRST THEN
10. START BY DATA-CHECK
ROMING-CHECK
NATIONAL ROMING -CHECK
IT SHOULD WORK. 100% TESTED ON HTC HD2 USING CUSTOM ANDROID ROOM
