HTC ONE M8 (Purchased America) - Will it work on our Networks?

Hi Guys,

I'm tempted to pick-up a unlocked HTC One M8 in the states heading there this week.

Would I be looking at problems with 3G/LTE networks given the different bands/radios? [Specifically Vodacom at the mo]

Should I rather pay a bit more an get a local one?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Be careful to purchase an M8 that is compatible with the SA specs. There are many different specs available worldwide, and even within the USA according to carrier.

I see the unlocked version has the following:

LTE Quad Band (Bands 17/4/2/5); LTE MIMO; GSM/EDGE: Quad-band (850/900/1800/1900 Hz), Class 12; UMTS: Tri-band (UMTS 850/1900/2100MHz), HSPA+Category 14xx (HSDPA 21Mbps/ EDCH 5.7 Mbps);

I see vodacom operates on a 1800 LTE mhz band.

So not compatible?
