Hi does any one know if the HTC One will be available on MTN contract? I read somewhere that only Vodacom will carry the HTC One.

Did anybody get the HTC One on MTN?
I have been phoning MTN Store Parkview, Menlyn, Sandton, Bronkhorstspruit, Centurion Mall, Centurion Boulevard, 808 , MTN Direct, Brooklyn Mall, The Grove and Lynridge Mall, Irene Mall

Some say it will come in, some say its discontinued others just don't care, they will just say they don't have it.

Sounds about right for MTN....best to get hold of their national office.

In case anyone was wondering, this issue still persists.

Most MTN outlets I've spoken to say that they have not had stock of the One for some time now, it is not even listed on mtndeals.co.za any more.

Incredibly annoying because I can't be bothered with the S4's plasticy feel and the Z1's flimsy connector covers.

Hi there, please note that MTN will not be procuring the HTC One anymore.

Oh, how far you've fallen. A few short years ago MTN would range just about every phone imaginable; now you don't carry what is widely regarded as one of the best phones of this generation because you happily cater almost exclusively to the iPhone and Samsung brigade. How sad that you don't give a flying **** that many of your customers want alternatives to plasticky toys.

It seems that CellC only stock the HTC One mini - meh.

And here I was hoping the HTC One M8 would make it to SA :(

Decisions on the M8 will be made once HTC has announced the device at the end of this month.

Awesome, another disappointment from MTN.

How can Nashua Mobile stock & offer the HTC One on MTN contracts, and MTN themselves be unable to offer this phone?

Seriously, can someone explain to me how a supposedly competitive service provider (MTN) refuses to stock one of the best top-end smartphones available?

MTN's twitter account:

The HTC One M8 has been released, see YelloTrader for more info - http://goo.gl/UZNL4U /NW

Im off to get mine!

I'm holding off to see what Vodacom offers. I'm not blown away by the rather limiting 100 megs of data :/

I want the phone, but that MTN offer is far from a deal.

Offhand, if the deals on the other networks are the same or worse, I think I'm going the orange store route with my credit card.

R8880 for the phone itself. That includes delivery and the local company will handle warranty issues (the replacement to Leaf - forget the name). Then I can stick with CellC and their cheap-ass data :p

Split over 24 months, paying it back would be cheaper than MTN's deal. Perhaps not so much with interest added on.

Still deciding anyway.

Waiting for the topup options....I like HTC and most probably will get the M8 but support for the brand is rather crap...my 18 month old...One X+ went all looney...booked in via MTN, got it back, with new board/new IMEI ...lasted about a day and had to return it, same looping on-off madness...took about three weeks for them to decide to give up trying to fix it and issue me with a completely new handset...
