I am due for an upgrade and I am wondering which of the HTC phones I should get. The 3300 has a pay in of R2500 while the 3400 is FREE. Any comments, suggestions?:)

As far as I know the 3300 has the GPS as an extra, otherwise they are exactly the same - I have the 3400 and am quite happy with it...

GPS or no GPS is the question question here. Slide out keyboard is appealing to most users but a nightmare for repairs. the P3300 has the pearl wheel mouse which is entertaining for the first 5 minutes.
my only gripe with both of these units is ... WHY OH WHY do they shove the tiny little 200Mhz processor in these PDA's ??????
i am spoilt when it comes to PDA's ... i have test driven all of them and being a performance hungry top of the range spec processors is a must ...overclocking can help but you run the risk of shortening the lifespan of the device which is fine for me ...

Guy, I do not think there is a sliding keyboard on the 3400, I have not seen one but the spec does not say anything about a sliding keyboard, I may be mistaken. Is the 200Mhz proc too slow. I currently have the Sony Ericsson P910i how does the speed compare?

If you willing to pay 2k, get a Nokia E90. However, if you really want a WM phone, I don't think it's worth it to pay so much more for the P3300. The only thing it has extra is intergrated GPS. As far as I know, it comes with Tomtom loaded but you'll have to buy the SA map which will cost you even more. You might want to consider the Tytyn as well.

oh my bad i was thinking about the P3450 ...
the devices are not really slow ... it is th multi tasking where the difference comes in .. for instance ... my device is connected to e-mail exchange via the cellular data channel and on Wifi connected to my work PC playing music off my hard drive to my Bluetooth stereo speakers ...and then the cherry on the cake is taking or making a phone call .... the slower spec processors take strain when running my personal bench test ....
there are a handful of devices running the 400 Mhz processor ... with the same processor some devices just feel faster than others ...
I am looking forward to the next 2 months .. this time of year the new devices are launched ... it is going to be very interesting with the new device standards - 256 MB ROM and a 128 MB RAM with full VGA displays amoung other little changes.
