Hi

I have just received an Huawei E620 card, but the disk contains no software for Macintosh and the card is not even listed on the Vodacom website.

Any suggestions to make it work?

Thanks

I think V3G has indicated that one can use the Novatel U740 software and firmware download for the huawei E620 card.
Dunno about MAC, think they only have the MS version.

Hi vg3

I am now online successfully - thanks for all the help!!

Cool,

Now for a 180; Can you confirm if the Novatel U740 is also supported?

Also, what version did you get?

For MTN too?

I'm another MAC user trying to get HSDPA with the E620, does the beta software work for the MTN HSDPA too?

Hi v3g

The software I got is: Vodafone Mobile Connect 3G 2.05.05.03
It seems to be a modified version of launch2net, a Macintosh program by Nova Media (www.novamedia.de). It looks and works exactly the same and credit is given to them in the program about box.

According to their website it supports the Novatel U740 for edge, 3g and HSDPA connections, so I presume the Vodafone version I have will also support that card.

I do not think the program will support connecting to MTN. In the list of compatible networks (in the Vodafone program) it only lists various Vodafone networks worldwide.

Hope this helps!!!

Hi Muchomaas

I have the software. It is 13.8mb, so it will not go through most mail servers. Do you perhaps have a ftp or something similar where I can put it for you. Or you can start a chat with me in iChat and we can transfer it that way. My iChat username is dreynecke @ mac.com (without the spaces).
