no simcard by flashing,

@ginggs: i ve read your posts
I have a mobile connect installed, then a good modem is connecting, but if I switch to the bad one "Modem" is empty in Device Manager, so I cant install only the drivers.

I havetryed todeinstall driver and MobileConnect with a good modem and then try to install only the driver with the bad one, but this wasnt the way, then try to take the good one, and after install the drivers, i try to connect the bad one. THIS WAS NOT WORKING.

Or is there a Programm to repair or copy from a other E220 modem the firmware? Or with Linux?
thx

Make sure you prevent the mobile connect software from autorunning.
When you plug in the bad one, does anything appear in Device Manager; a mass storage device, or a USB composite device?

If you have access to a Linux box, check the output of 'dmesg' after plugging in the modem. That might tell you if the modem is completely dead.

I've just discovered hflasher for Linux, but haven't tried it.

Edit: hmm, maybe not, from http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f804/huawei-flasher-linux-free-1756699/#post10267345

This is just a useless piece of software.

First of all, why do you distribute a software that is connecting to a server? Why do you add credit handling if you do give everyone unlimited usage?

At least as long as you had the server 5.39.47.14 running the software was working. Now since this server is not anymore maintained all parts of your software is not usable anymore.

What was your intention with this? Having people test your software for free and than get it paid?

Useless...

I hope you have installed the correct firmware, there is an international (I think Indian) version and the version for S.A can be confusing because it seems like its for the exact same model number. I was almost caught out with this.

what operating system are you using (xp / vista / 7 / 8) ?

try this:
http://sudantha.wordpress.com/2012/09/24/how-to-fix-bricked-failed-firmware-update-huwaei-e220/

complete step 2, then use the firmware update from post #11
@grantza: those instructions look good. I was using Windows XP when I "unbricked" the E220 I posted about previously.
Step 1 : Find a Windows XP Machine
Find a Machine running Windows XP , actually Win XP is really needed for this. i tried using various other O/S as Vista or Win 7 you cannot perform This !!

from post #14:

Step 2 : Plug the USB device
Plug the USB device and wait till it detect it.. If you check the device manager you can see three devices detect as Mass Storage and two Data Interface’s

what appears in "device manager" ?

have you tried connecting the unit to the back usb ports?
Some PCs don't supply enough power to the front USBs to run some items.
