Hi all

I am having a strange problem I have a MTN Huawei E620 datacard which plugs into my acer travelmate C111 tablet pc. Everything connects and works perfectly - then after a period of time (30seconds to a few minutes) the PC freezes before waking up again 10seconds or longer later. This only happens when the datacard is plugged in and active. I have tried driver updates from acer but they didn't help. Any suggestions? Any similar experiences?

It would be usefull to know which PCMCIA controller it uses i.e Texas Instruments or Ricoh ... check your Device Manager and pass along the Device ID.

Good day,

I've tried this with a HP, Dell and Acer and it froze on the Dell and Acer and the work around was I tried everything and the only thing that worked is I re-imaged the Dell and Acer and tried it again and it worked like a bomb - The way I see it is anything could be causing the problem it could be config related, winsock or a couple of corrupted files, but I have mailed my device manager and Huawei and will provide you with any feedback they provide

The driver is Ricoh. I have been called by an MTN rep and hopefully a solution is on it's way.

Hi,

This is Jason Zhang, Huawei terminal service manager in South Africa. For that problem, we suggest that,

1. Change another E620 to test in the computer.
2. Check if there is any conflict between Huawei USB device port and Bluetooth port, or any other hardware conflict.
3. Check the Operator System.
4. Check the PCMCIA interface. The problem of PCMCIA interface always freezes the computer.

Till now, there is no feedback for the compatibility problem between E620 and Acer computer from all over the world. If the problem is universal, please kindly arrange the meeting. I will test the problem on site.

Thank you!

Best Regards,

I have given up trying to work with the E620! I am now using a E220 without any problems on the same laptop.
