Huawei launches powerhouse P30 and P30 Pro smartphones

Ugly notch. Still not as good a camera as Samsung and it's Huawei, all your data gets feeded back to China and then you get hacked...

Both smartphones are dual-SIM devices and support a NanoSD memory card in their second SIM slots for expandable storage.

Meanwhile their budget phones are dual sim and have a dedicated memory slot. How does that work?

Expected a bit more, the P20 launch was way more exciting...

The P30 Pro is basically just a cheaper Samsung S10+. also not sure why Huawei is still using 1080p screens, it's not 2016 anymore.

Well done Huawei, when will we see the new devices in store?

Still has a 3.5mm jack on the P30 - excellent.
I still prefer the back of phone fingerprint sensor to in-screen fingerprint sensors.

P30: 6.1" OLED, 1080x2340px resolution ~422ppi density
Apples "Retina" display was 326ppi.
Not convinced that higher resolution makes much of a difference.

The biggest improvement on the P30/P30Pro seems to be in the Camera/Video department.
Watched part of the live stream - Huawei seems to have improved the camera to the next level.
zoom (via periscope camera), night sight (400000 ISO), wide angle, stabilisation, dual-view, etc.

agreed 1080 is plenty, QHD just zaps battery like my current phone

I'm keen to see local contact pricing. This may be my next phone.

It gets feeded to NSA/MOSAD first, as Google FoolPlay Services are running on the lower layer.

There is less space in flagship phones. All available space is filled by features.
