Some pics I have taken with the phone I around the house today. Excuse the dirty car, but it's a good comparison of how it handles dark scenes with and without the Flash.

The camera isn't bad. I just think it lacks the detail that I'm used to with my s8. Also, it doesn't perform as well in low light/indoors scenarios.
I guess I'm a bit spoiled in this department, should be good enough for most.

Agreed. One thing I am really missing besides the high amount of detail in the photos is the 2x Optical Zoom from my Note8, but I keep having to remind myself that this is a mid end device

We are far too spoilt.

In terms of navigating the UI, I am liking this more gesture based Single Key Navigation, it does take some getting used to though, but basically:
- One Tap = Back
- Swipe left or right = Recent Task Menu
- Long Press = Homescreen
- Swipe Up = Google Assistant

I have set it to Auto Hide to, so the phone looks really good, taking full advantage of the display. I have also kept the notch for now.

Is it on Pie? Because that's very similar to the new navigation in Pie, and my Mate 10 doesn't have that yet :(

Nope, it's Android 8.1 but with the new EMUI8.2. If I am not mistaken the Mate 10 has EMUI 8.0? I'm sure it will get this feature soon in an update.

Yeah still sitting on 8.0. I'd imagine it'd be updated to 9.0 after the Mate 20 release

Must say, the Display on this phone is fantastic, very hard to fault it in most situations. Text and images are crisp and it is nice and decently bright. With it being a LTPS IPS LCD, you do get some washing out at more extreme angles, but otherwise I simply cannot complain.
Used Waze today, and the Display went super bright, enough to be able to use it happily under the sunlight.

The Auto Brightness can get a bit aggressive in Darker places where it seems to sometimes get a bit too dark, so I have turned it off, and set it to 50% and it's adequate for what I need.

Very happy with it though, even for YouTube viewing, it's pretty good, considering the price point.

Also, it makes more sense now to have the 1080p screen on the Mate 20, and the 2k screen on the Mate 20 Pro

Any idea where one could get a cover locally?

I'm clumsy and it's only a matter of time before I drop this phone...

I'm also worried about the cameras at the back getting scratched up because they do protrude quite a bit.

I have seen some info on the net that says the Mate 20 Pro will be bigger than the Mate 20 Lite, hope that's just rumors as the phones are getting way to big for my liking.
Any idea if those rumors are true? I see the Mate 10 Lite was a few mm's bigger than the Mate 10 Pro

Hm, I'd like to see how those 3 cameras stack up against something like a Pixel 3 which only has 1 camera. Google has shown that its all down to software when it comes to smartphone photography. Except for optical zoom
