Huawei has USD 12 Billion cash in hand and has much more than this in available credit. They are just beginning an epic spending spree. On the shopping list:
  1. Any companies owning tech assets that are useful in ICT
  2. Telecoms
  3. And most of all, companies that have good government relations and strong sales channels for everything telecom related
As you know, Huawei is well connected in SA. So there is a good chance that there will be a shakeup here involving foreign acquisition. I think it's a good thing. What do you think?

If you want to know what areas are being looked at, read the article.

Use part of that USD12b to come invest in a national fibre network. Then I don't care what other services you provide I'll be throwing my money at you.

Huawei shares are only available to Chinese national long-time employees. If you want a share in Huawei's success, buy stock in companies that work together with Huawei.

When I lived near Huawei HQ in Shenzhen, I paid the equivalent of 3500Rand/year for a 105M fiber connection. Just for fun, I streamed 9 HD movies in little boxes on my big screen. I couldn't keep up with what was happening in all the movies, but I was really happy because none of them paused to load.

Deutsche Telekom just announced a partnership with Huawei to build robust cloud infrastructure all across Europe. Huawei, eager to win influence in the EU is making it easy for DT to take market share away from American owned Google and Amazon. DT is a listed company, so there you go.

If you want to be rich, buy shares in what Huawei is going to buy, before they buy it.;)
