A cellphone shop easily bypassed Google’s factory reset protection — for R300

MyBroadband was able to bypass Google factory reset protection (FRP) by taking it to a local cellphone and gadget shop and paying a R300 fee.

Google FRP is a feature enabled on Android phones when a user logs into a Google account and sets up a password on the phone.

I took P30 lite i paid R150 ..those people from centurion are expensive come to Kempton park .. do it in 30 minutes. You pay R150.00

I took iphone 8 plus to nigerian guy in kempton park around december .. even though he was bit expensive because was iphone i paid R1300.00 ..it is still working ..they xan even do iphone ..adroid is charging R150.00 ,where do you think this grabbed phones from cars are going.

If a properly setup and protected iPhone is going to the parts disassembly.

There was just a thread here the other day with a guy mentioning all the "locked" iPhones on sale. Why don't these people all reset it rather and get a better price?
