One major difference between Huawei’s P40 Pro and other flagship Android smartphones on the market is its use of Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) instead of Google Mobile Services (GMS).

This means that Google applications will not come pre-installed on the Huawei P40 Pro and some apps which require GMS integration may not function as expected.

Tied to Google, if I swap out from Google apps it won't be to Huawei's option, I will just get an iPhone rather.

Do any of these R21k devices still require me to jump through hoops to have a partial solution to using Google Media Services?

The whole US ban on Huawei must be having an effect, I definitely wouldnt want an Android phone that doesnt have the Google services.
If they werent facing a ban though then the Huawei handsets would probably erode the Samsung market share in SA quite substantially.
