I run with the P9 plus and I love it, way better than my LG Nexus 5. Am in love with this phone, really good value.

Most phones only come with a 1 year warranty.
Only phone I've found with 1yr is the Apple IPhone, most expensive but least warranty, Apple always an innovator. Suppose may be others but by and large Sa bought phones are 2yr warranty.

Most phones come with 2 year warranty standalone nowadays. My concern with the phone is it Vodacom stock cause if that's the case one needs to use a Vodacom sim card for the warranty to be valid

What's the difference to the lite, more ram and better camera?

That, and the VIP service card you get, I just got one of those unlimited deals on Telkom mobile, and then got the P9 plus with it. Mine also looks like it can take a 2nd sim, dont know if the lite does that (though it most likely does)

The main reason I went for the P9 plus is because of its finger print scanner. After being spoiled by the Nexus 5 scanner, I cant live without it, and I cant handle the cheesy hack that samsung have going. Apparently Huawei have some of the best tech when it comes to fingerprint scanning. I cant really compare it to the scan on my nexus as both of them had 100% accuracy rate, but its a feature I can no longer live without. I do realize that this is a Chinese government sponsored tech company so all my bases are belong to them, but no data that they would have access to via the device (assuming I was ever important enough to monitor) has me worried.

If I am going to be working against China it wont be from my phone. It will be from a tor booted desktop.

Just delivered...

Bad news: single sim and it is Vodacom branded software inside (dreaded splash screen). Sim card tray looks like it will fit a nano sim in the second slot, but software is going to have the second sim disabled...

Richard was right.

Can't you load unbranded firmware?
What do the specs on the IC website say about the dual sim?

If not mistaken if you use a competitors sim card the warranty falls away if I recall or has this changed now with CPA. My advice would be to make a screenshot as the advert didn't mention anything about using it on Vodafone network. My package will only be here at 13:30 roughly, missed the driver in the morning..

Don't forget if you do flash the firmware warranty falls away if not mistaken.. Vodafone don't want their customers to use competitors sim cards

There is only 1 IMEI on the box. Surely this means the phone won't read the second sim even if you flash a global ROM on?

My Xiaomi has 2x IMEI on the box
