No it's not an option. All those requires you to be directly on the net. From outside, your connection will go to the router on Amobia's side, which won't know what to do with it.

Did you actually test this, cause I want to disagree on your statement...

I completely disagree! I've tested it multiple times now as I have logmein installed on my home PC and can easily log in to it from my work.

BTW I have PM'd you. (Roger.Wilco)

EDIT : Found this PDF on Logmein. LINK Read page 5 and 6

Those diagrams in that PDF is not what the layout will be with a private ip. And I've obviously not tested with Amobia, but their sales and technical department confirmed with me that I won't be able to access anything on my network from outside, unless I take a capped package.

Well, they are wrong, as I can! Again I say...I connected to my PC this morning on the Amobia 1mb uncapped from my work PC, 10 km away on a completely different network.

The login program that is installed on your PC creates an SSL tunnel to the Logmein Servers. When you login through the website you see your pc. Trust me it works!

Sorry to interrupt the topic, but I'd like to share my joy with Amobia too.
I'm at home sick ATM, so been doing a bit of forum browsing.
I got Amobia about a month ago to replace my useless iBurst. I mostly wanted to use the connection for online gaming and browsing.
My local speed test right now (midday Thursday):

International speed test (midday Thursday):

I'm on the 2MB capped package.
My pings to local and international servers are lower than I believe they would be on ADSL. The last time I had and ADSL line was at my last house about 2-3 years ago. From what i remember, international pings were around 350ms and local around 20ms on a shaped account.
If Telkom came to me now to finally install a line in my house, I would turn them away.

Big up to Amobia for the quality of my connection. Here's to keeping it up!

Your experiences are similar to my own. I play League of Legends on European servers with a few local friends. My pings are lower than both the people on ADSL (using various ISP's) and two friends using 3G (8ta and Vodacom) and an unfortunate soul on Iburst. I also experience way less lag than any of the others.

Only complaint I have is that my connection to the Internet Solutions Mumble server drops every few minutes and there's definite latency there. I suspect it's an Amobia to IS routing issue.

Looks like line speeds back to normal. 1mbs it is then.

Indeed. Probably they got lines upgrades, but fixed back to client's speed quickly.

Anyone having connectivity issues in Cape Town tonight? I am getting a bit Gatvol. Been down since 5.30pm. Service was great for 1st month but last two have been borderline.

Yip down for me as well. Phoned at 6:30 said they were doing upgrades...they probably broke something.

Thanks man pulling my hair out already. Fall back to 8ta tonite for me then. Just wish they would let us know. Started gaming again after 8 week lay off due to hand surgery and this happens.
