There was a country in South America where their privatized water.... and a monopoly formed. So much so that even collecting rain water was illegal. Eventually the people rioted and the state took over. Now there are no more water riots.

"we are running out of clean air"
"we are running out of space"
"we are running out of time before the planet overheats"

little do they tell you ...

It is argued that the privatization process did little with regards to addressing access to water and that the increase in water prices following such measures was met by an approximate 2% increase in levels of poverty. [2]

Following two popular uprisings against water privatization, the first in Cochabamba in April 2000 and the second in La Paz/El Alto in January 2005, the two concessions were terminated. In the latter case, Aguas de Illimani was replaced by the public utility Empresa Pública Social de Agua y Saneamiento (EPSAS).

The public water utility came under some criticism in 2008 due to water shortages, accounting errors, tariff increases and poor disaster preparedness. Consequently, representatives of the La Paz neighborhood association announced to create their own service provider.[3]

From the Nestle site itself :

Of course. Peter Brabeck-Letmathe thinks water is a human right. He has reiterated this position in dozens of interviews and statements over the years, some examples are below.
He says the water we need for drinking and basic hygiene is a human right. However he does not believe it is fair that some people in the world still do not have access to a clean, safe supply when others can use excess amounts for non-essential purposes, without bearing a cost for its infrastructure.
Our Chairman is trying to raise awareness about the issue of water scarcity. He believes that unless this issue is taken seriously around the globe, we will run out of safe, clean water before we run out of oil.

Ed Zachery....

with 71% of the earth being covered in water.. I think there's enough.

Plus, 69% of the FRESHWATER on earth is ice..... so yeah, run outta water? Not in this lifetime...

Besides.... where is the water going to go??? Another planet? I dont understand how people can claim we'll run out of water? Have they no clue as to the cycle of water?

Or, someone will come up with a cost effective desalination process and no more problems.

And then the companies that come up with this process collude on prices and we have the next oil business.
