You basically get what you pay for... If u prefer to save the cash, the take the 308. Its a very uninspiring car though. And you will struggle to get rid of it in a few years time.

If u have the cash or don't mind spending a bit more, the GTI is a MUCH better car. I would say yes, it's worth the extra R100k, but not with the extra mileage. For that price you could find another GTI with under 100,000km.

So basically, don't buy either of these... Shop around for a cleaner GTI for R250k. They really are beautiful cars and if u ask around, are actually pretty reasonable to maintain as well.
