99.9 % of internet users don't need 5G.
Fibre and 4G/LTE is more than equate to download, stream movies in HD and play games.
5G is nothing more than hype and a rip-off.
As both 4G and 5G are mobile technologies, would rather have 5G over 4G anyday, and not sure if it is going to be the norm, but Rain's 5G caps are more fibre and ADSL like than 4G's horrid caps.
I am sure many can get away with 4G's typical 200GB maximum cap, but if you are a cord cutter relying on streaming services, and a PC game player where you HAVE to download new releases, 200GB is not going to cut it.
I would have fiber if it was available, and being in Gauteng I hardly live off the beaten track, but no fiber provider has plans to install in my area, and the roll out seems to have stalled anyway in others.
MTN and Vodacom will be getting in to the 5G game when the TV spectrum is freed up, and it is highly possible that 5G could be bigger than fiber when all is said and done.
I take it you have fiber where you are? Most of us do not. 5G is certainly not hype and has a place.
