I bought data bundles from Vodacom and MTN and tried to get a refund

In the past I've had issues with Cell C where I've bought a daily bundle to use immediately, and it was only loaded 3 hours later, which was too late, and also an hour before it expired.

Shortly after my purchase, I was told that the transaction had not gone through and that I wasn't billed.

So much for that. :erm:

MTN basically refunded you by mistake. Telkom refunded you as they want to gain market share by being nice. And Cell C and Vodacom did what these thieves normally do.

Dave doesn't use Telkom. Julie does

Me&You Mobile made a double deduction for a 1Gb bundle I bought and are absolutely adamant that I really did buy 2 bundles, 5 seconds apart!

Still trying to resolve this 3 months later. They promise to resolve, phone back, reply to me, send me emails.

So if you want a refund, just say that you're writing an article for mybroadband.co.za in future.

^ This!!!

Exactly. Telkom still owes me a refund two years later. Their policy must differ if you are not writing an article. Plus my circumstances were exceptional in that they had suspended my service so I was unable to load the airtime.

I am on a Vodacom contract and had bundle purchases via the USSD reversed if I by mistake loaded 2 or more bundles within minutes apart. I had to call in to customer care to have it reversed.

We need more articles like this. It's absolutely shocking that not one of the customer support representatives followed up or actually resolved the issue.

Also, what is the legality of this practice? Surely a data product can be returned if unused? CPA?

The damn thieves, they did the same thing on my 300mb bundle billed me for two and insisted I loaded them 5 seconds apart also. They haven't refunded me for the incorrect billing I paid for 4 to 5 months. What a shady company!

Looks like they are doing this to many people, me & you mobile is out to scam their customers out of money, add to that the fact that they suddenly without warning canceled my first unlimited line with them because they say I had to use a certain amount of data(a clause not included in the terms and conditions when I initially signed up, they added it later only) and the tediousness of mending their latest 150 number limit and I've come to the point where it's not worth staying with them anymore.

Think this is my last month dealing with these unprofessional scammers trying to peddle themselves as a legitimate value for money telecoms provider.
