I-Burst DC++ Hub Minimum Share

Guys, whoever is in control of the DC++ hub, please turn the share down a bit... I mean come on 50GB is excessive. I have shared every single file there is to share on my pc (well at least any file that is worth sharing) and i still get tops 41GB... Please lower it to something like 30GB *puppy eyes look* *pwetty please*

Sorry all, there was a script error with the redirect. The hubs have been split as follows: Main hub remains with 50 gig min share, 2nd lame hub with 1 gig min share. If you join the main hub with low share you will be redirected to the smaller hub automatically where you can grow and evolve your share much like a pokemon with intent of joining the big boi one day. The main hubs address is ibust.kicks-ass.net or .co.za

I still dont get full speed on that hub, infact it goes exactly the same speed as anything else once I'm capped, do all you guys really get over capped speeds on this hub!!! sucks for me....

It does suck for some, though the regulars do fine at about 10-15 down on account of the source sharing with 3 other people different users get different speeds, especially from different users - though the rule of thumb is signal strength, time of day and towers(some just suck). iBurst is a bit funky this month with most peoples bandwidth monitors not working, they out raping the net besides there are so few people in at the mo on account of the date, give it chance.

No, I've been on twice right at the end of the month and it still sucked.
Do you really think we should be out raping our caps? I'm a bit caucious cause i dont want to be left capped halfway through the month, my mother uses the internet and would freek! Anyone out there already used over their cap limit and notice that they arent capped on account of the messed up bandwidth meter?

hehe, ekhaatvensters, i was loving the speeds last month... Thing is, that apparently there is a major speed difference if u in CPT. At least that is what I heard. Most of the people on the hub are from Jozi, and it is fast for us... but I think that if more people come on, esp from CPT, then you should notice improved speeds. In other words CPT-CPT speeds are high, DBN-DBN speeds are high, and JHB-JHB\PTA speeds are high. Otherwise it is probably capped on the peering links.

Vensters, just join the hub and wait, the more people that join the more people that stay if you know what I mean. There are people logging in and out all the time but they don't stay. While simply twisted is probably spot on, there is another factor that rocks, every so often there is a rift in the time space continuum or more simply ibursts capping software shoots blanks and the speeds shoot up until you disconnect/reconnect. As for the addy STOF its a couple posts up <- why must this smiley be pink?

Its been the same small group (5-15 ppl) using dc for the last few months, I think it just needs a critical mass, people leave at the beggining of the month and keep popping in but neva stay, this prevents groups of compatable users (same area, high speeds) from hooking up because they all try it for 10 minutes and leave. The hub only gets busy after the 25th which is such a waste. Something tells me that this month its gonna pump. I been averaging at least 30 gigs a month, if you want to join get dc++ add the hub to your favourites, add shares and join, couldn't be simpler - no charges no subscribtion no bull just good old fashioned private networking

PS make sure you have at least 3 slots open when you join

But i can only join once capped, or else I'll be capped very soon. So I'll be there on like the 25th or so, i know it sucks but I'll stay for long this time. If just one CPT user is there i could get good speeds and be happy just getting everything from him and sharing everything to him.

Well nab the whole new thing of 50GB is just insane. Come on, it cant be that hard to lower it. Nobody stays on the mirror where the small share is. It is, was and will always be empty, caus nobody is gonna stay on there. And I seriously see no point in subdividing the hub into 2 parts. It just spreads out the very thin layer of users even more since some cant get in. I mean, i would rather let someone with "only" 20 GB of good stuff to share in, than somebody who has got a k@k-load of useless stuff in his share. I had a mere 30GB last month shared, but my upload in total is so far 5GB vs 4GB download. That taking into account that I was only on for a few days.

In my mind, the best way to do it, is let everyone join, and see how it goes. Maybe there would be more people, and at the end of the day everybody would be happier.
