No Install Date????
No Progress
Escilated

19 sept
No Ports - awaiting port project - Est Date 21 sept.
DuDu - escilation to installation dept for correct info.

21 sept
Eianda - Requested more info

22 sept
zama - ports available 26 july.
System not available. Will call me back (never did)

28 Sept
Dudu - agrees ports available. showing to supervisor. Est Date - 31 October.

Does anyone have any sugestions for me? I cant Iburst or 3G (No coverage).

I waited 2.5 months for a line move. In this time I've been paying my regular bill. I faxed through my cancellation two days ago. I'd rather write down IP packets and post them than continue waiting for a connection.

What grates me is that i cant get a streight answer. Everyone tells me that there are ports free since 26 July but i will only get mine 31 October. Just waiting for them to tell me that because of Jupiters position in relation to Venus my port will be assigned 31 February!!!

Ask ICASA to act - their dumb-ass regulations state ADSL instalationtime max = ???

Make it a test case.

Visit www.icasa.org.za with your Telkom reference number and post your complaint.

I've handed in 2 complaints about bad service (transfer not done in time and repair not made in good time) and in both cases the slow wheels of ICASA was grinding faster than Telkom's.

People are complaining, but they are not prepared to take the extra little step and assist in flooding ICASA with complaints.

Where you located? Simple solutions still work I have suggested this to many a mates of mine and this is what we have done, find a telkom bakkie - speak to the engineer, and tell him how important it is, he will if he has a little bit of sympathy talk to his mates who might be the tech assigned to your install.
