I official now hate iburst with a passion.
I live in CT and have had iburst for 2 months now and i hate it completely. From the beginning it has caused more trouble then its worth. 1st:The idiot that tryed to install it completely messed it up. He was not able to install my belkin router and then called in a friend who he said would be able to fix it, (not being told that the friend was to charge was R300 per hour) we accepted. After 4 hours of trying he still couldn't get it to work and he said we had to buy a new router from him for R1000 plus the installation of R500 plus the R1200 for doing nothing to the other router. After the system was installed we could only get 3 bars of signal and we requested to the antenna be put up which cost more then the advertised price of R699. After the installation the intaller told me i was going to get between 400k and 900k.

After a week i recorded all the speeds i checked and i never once did i go over 350k.
I have phone the helpdesk and they seem to be as retarded as the rest of the staff at iburst and i am 110% uphappy with iburst.

P.S My first quote from iburst was between R3500 and R4000 and the finish cost of installing iburst was over R5000:eek: in total:mad:

That sounds like the 3rd partyt installers a twit more than iburst. I'd refuse to pay personally, If he can't set up a first class router that's his freaking problem.

I have to agree with doobiwan. Whilst WBS are lacking in the customer service department and at times experience problems with the product, what happened above really has nothing to do with iBurst being at fault (unless the installer was an iBurst employee).

I honestly would not have paid either of the two who came out. The initial installer should have carried the cost of calling out his mate as it was he who was inexperienced enough to install the router.

You got ripped by two @rses who give the industry a bad name, not iBurst.

Yeah, it does. But on this forum it has been a constant mantra that prospective Iburst users get a free trial at their location before taking up Iburst. Any wireless technology is location critical insofar as how well it works. So I'm sorry you got a bum deal, and hope that everything eventually works out for the best. If you are not happy, you have good reason to complain. Demand a refund.

Hello quinn.... see youre having problems. Weird cause i live like 2 blocks away from you and I can get 400kb-500kb in the day and up to 1mb after about 7pm. Maby you should check where youre antenna is placed dude... it should be pointing to the plumbstead side of your house, towards school (kind of)
Well at least you can jam DOTA on the net.... also make shure you've set your MTU to 1352 on whatever router youre using now.

i think you missed the bus, the connection you see when you connect is the not the speed that you have connected to the internet. If you connect it will say that you have either connected at 1mb/10mb/100mb.

Note: iburst is 1mega bits per second, which is equivalent to 1024 kilo bits per second which equalls 128Kilo Bytes per second

Understand?

upload using imageshack.com or photo bucket or any of the free image uploading services on the net. I'd love to se what you mean... either its a cached telkom speed test or your internet connection showing the speed of your device (ethernet = 100mb) and 100Kb downloads are only 800kb/s so how are you conncted at 10mb/s?

OMW...

Thats the speed your UTD is connecting to your PC numbnut.
The ethernet interface between the PC and UTD is 10 mbps. Nothing to do with the speed you connect to the iBurst Network.

i know which connection is to the UTD,in fact I think I'm gonna drop the subject since I can't really explain it to you and you don't seem to understand. And i do know my fare share bout iburst considering I've only had it for about a week now.And maybe if you looked at the pic a little closer, you'd see that they are 2 seperate connections,1 to the UTD and 1 to the network which makes only 1 connection the speed that the UTD connects to my pc!
